Only by much searching and mining

“Only by much searching and mining, are gold and diamonds obtained, and man can find every truth connected with his being, if

he will dig deep into the mine of his soul; and that he is the maker of his character, the moulder of

his life, and the builder of his destiny, he may unerringly prove, if he will watch, control, and alter his

thoughts, tracing their effects upon himself, upon others, and upon his life and circumstances,

linking cause and effect by patient practice and investigation, and utilizing his every experience,

even to the most trivial, everyday occurrence, as a means of obtaining that knowledge of himself

which is Understanding, Wisdom, Power.”

1. Searching and Mining

Gold and diamonds are not found on the surface. They require excavation, pressure, and

persistence. Allen is saying that truth about yourself is the same. You must dig beneath comfort,

beneath ego, beneath reaction. Transformation requires internal excavation.

2. Dig Deep into the Mine of His Soul

Surface thoughts produce surface results. Deep examination produces clarity. The mine represents

your internal landscape — beliefs, fears, assumptions, habits, and hidden narratives. The deeper

you dig, the more valuable the discovery.

3. Maker of Character, Moulder of Life, Builder of Destiny

Character is formed through repeated thought. Life is shaped by repeated action. Destiny is

constructed by long-term alignment. Allen removes randomness. The structure of your life reflects

the structure of your thinking.

4. Watch, Control, and Alter His Thoughts

Observation is first. Governance is second. Alteration is third. You must trace thought to action and action to result. Link cause and effect deliberately.

5. Utilize Every Experience

Nothing is wasted. Even small, everyday moments reveal patterns. Each reaction is data. Each

success is evidence. Each mistake is instruction. Life becomes a laboratory for self-understanding.

6. Understanding, Wisdom, Power

Understanding is awareness of law. Wisdom is alignment with law. Power is the disciplined

application of law. This is not inspiration. It is mastery earned through patient investigation.
